Who I am
My name is Chiara, class '89, born and raised in the beautiful country, but became really adult, in 2013, in the splendid Paris. I've always loved to travel and my mind wanders away since I was a child, towards more and more distant horizons. I dreamed of a busy life, around the world, working as an explorer or scientist. Somehow, now I have become one and the other!
With a degree in Biology and an Erasmus+ grant (which was still called the Leonardo project) I left alone, a lukewarm day in October, with the initial goal of staying for only six months, perhaps a year. I was one of the many "runaway brains" who dreamed abroad in the hope of a future and a better career. Although in fact, this definition has always been close to me. Paris then entered my heart and welcomed me immediately in the best way. So good that I decided to stay there until date.
The Ville Lumière has thus become a place I call "home", my source of inspiration and the focus of a new, great stage: Life as an expat.
Today I see the expatriate with different eyes than when I left. It had to be an economic transfer, a professional opportunity, a new experience. Today for me expatriate has become a real way of life, which will not necessarily always and only have Paris as its background.
Leaving Paris I started to visit Europe and then the ocean far and wide, falling in love with its cultural diversity and all the hidden secrets it can reveal. The journey has become a rule of life and since then I have not stopped, managing to travel a bit even in the most difficult year of all. My luggage is always ready, waiting to discover new horizons.
Living abroad has taught me and taught me a lot.
It made me realize that the world is a huge and wonderful ball of adventures, discoveries and opportunities to be explored. I have understood that diversity is a wealth and not an obstacle, and as such it must be understood and welcomed without fear. I thought my arrival in Paris was a point of arrival, a place of dreams where to stay forever and take root. Now I understand. My roots are everywhere.
For this, through my blog and my social pages, I share my everyday life as an Italian in France and try to help those who want to follow my example and many other migrants before me. Find more information about the services I propose in the section "My services".
One I knowthe word to define me? Pretty much none!
I hate definitions and labels, I find them extremely limiting.
If I had to choose, the word that would define me better would be "work in progress": I am a multi-faceted being, constantly changing and without a definite goal, constantly discovering myself and the world around me.
