Those who travel can travel every day
2020 was certainly not the easiest year for travel lovers. The Covid-19 pandemic forced us into the house for several months, without the possibility to explore the world freely. The situation is still very complex and we do not know exactly when we can return to travel without restrictions.
What can we do then to fill the abstinence from travel? Remember that with the mind it is possible travel every day.
A journey in fact is not only a physical action that makes us move from one place to another, but a real lifestyle. The real wanderlust he travels his everyday life, always looking for new experiences and new stimuli without necessarily moving from his own city.
How can you travel every day? There are many ways: cooking, music, literature... just knowing how to search and let yourself be transported.
1. Eating, traveling
During the lockdown many of us, including me, have rediscovered cooks. Having time available and a little fancy, why not even try ethnic dishes and new ingredients? If we managed to bake pizzas and lasagna perfect, with a little ingenuity we can successfully try in malassam curry, in chakchouka tunisin or why not, a good ♪ Senegalese. Do not be frightened by the "exotic" names: thanks to the internet and well-stocked supermarkets it is now possible to easily find refined ingredients and recipes of all kinds.
Instead of basil and olive oil, free way to coconut milk, curcuma, sweet potato and peanut butter; instead of mozzarella and Parma ham, room for Dutch cheeses and Spanish meats. I see you, you're already shaking your nose! Italian cuisine is exceptional, but our planet is a vast mapping of aromas and flavors who have nothing to envy them. Try to believe: a good dish will be enough to make us feel, like by magic, teleported in Spain, India, Thailand or in deep Africa.

2. Explore reading
In addition to travel, one of my greatest passions is reading. I have always loved to discover new worlds by immersing myself in the pages of a book, especially if set in distant and unexplored places. Now as now, we have time to cook but also to read what we like: why not make the most of it? Do binge watching TV series, maybe "armed" of cookies or chips, is definitely pleasant and fun. But wouldn't it be much healthier to replace the screens with a good book? Also the line will thank you, as long as you do not fill the pages of crumbs!

3. Traveling the time of a movie
We agree, maybe not all are library rats like me and I prefer the film company. Also in this case, TV and platforms streaming can be of great help in overcoming blues of the traveler. Among beautiful films set in the UK, the United States or the Far East, you have the embarrassment of choosing to travel with fantasy. There are plenty of themed films, some also inspired by novels, essays and biographies.
My favorite? Into the wild of the great Sean Penn. A movie, a character and a story I could talk about for hours.
4. A trip to music
The story told in Into the wild was made famous by a wonderful book and a memorable film, but also by soundtrack made by Eddie Vedder . This is just an example of how you can travel by letting yourself be transported by music. Every country in the world has a long musical tradition: just think about it fade Portuguese, bossa nova Brazilian, the ♪ Tunisian or still Icelandic music, just to name a few. Enlarge your own musical horizons is a great way to travel without moving from your comfortable sofa.
There are also many songs that seem to be made for a trip, thanks to their intense and evocative melodies: songs that talk about road trips, numb trains and complex inner journeys looking for themselves. My favorites to add in playlist? Here. Find some!
5. Celebrate, celebrate, share
For those who like me live abroad, embrace new traditions and feel their own is on the agenda. As well as having friends from all over the world and finding themselves celebrating with them important events for their culture or religion. During these years of stay in Paris I was lucky to celebrate Thanksgiving American and Canadian, the feast ofAid by the end of Ramadan, the Diwali and the Indian Holi, especially when I stayed at the Cité Internationale.

Living in a melting pot of cultures, as well as being an opportunity for personal growth, is the perfect opportunity to make the world around in a few minutes: new languages are spoken, new traditions are discovered, extend their horizons.
The openness of spirit is what makes the true traveller a everyday traveler, someone can always travel, even without moving from home. An open mentality brings us every day to try out curiosity for new experiences, taste new foods or listen to melodies never heard before. I mean, at travel every single day.
Why travel is not only a do, but be. And who lives every day with a mindset as a real traveller, can make every moment of his life an unforgettable journey.
